Here at Shiloh Little Beagles, we believe you deserve the peace of mind that we are doing everything in our power to deliver a healthy Beagle puppy from our arms to yours. As with any living thing, there is always the possibility of disease entering the environment and causing adverse issues to our puppies. We proactively work to head off any problems that commonly affect canines, giving age appropriate vaccines and deworming medications.
However, occasionally, in spite of our best efforts, a puppy's health may be challenged. So, in order to mitigate the stress of such health challenges, we offer an explicit health guarantee with each Beagle puppy we sell. As will be seen, both breeder and new owner have specific responsibilities to maintain the well-being of each precious puppy. We offer the following contract hoping that it never has to be brought into consideration.
HEALTH GUARANTEE We assure that the dog you are purchasing is purebred and comes with registration papers. The puppy must be paid for in full before taking possession. Every effort has been made by the seller to insure that the dog is delivered in a healthy, sound condition. We care deeply about the health and well-being of each and every puppy that we offer for sale, and will not knowingly sell any puppy with any adverse health condition.
The puppy has received proper vaccinations and dewormings appropriate for its age. A licensed veterinarian must examine the puppy within 48 hours of buyer's possession and seller must be notified by email of results of this examination by midnight of the day of the exam. During the initial exam, should your veterinarian find the puppy of poor health or detect any physical health problem that would require further veterinary care (other than required vaccinations and/or treatment for any type of parasite or bacteria, internal or external) buyer must contact seller within 24 hours. The failure to do this will result in the cancellation of this guarantee.
Buyer agrees to provide the puppy with routine preventative care, follow vet guidelines on deworming, vaccinations, and heartworm prevention, and to house the dog correctly. The puppy is guaranteed to be free of Parvo virus and distemper for 48 hours upon arrival to buyer. Buyer must have the ELISA test performed within 48 hours of purchase if claiming that the dog has either of the viruses.
This puppy is guaranteed until 12 months of age against fatal and life altering congenital disease which adversely affects the health of the animal. If this puppy dies within 12 months of purchase, the buyer will pay to have a necropsy done and if the reason of death is found to be congenital, the seller will replace the puppy. Seller is not responsible for any vet bills.
A puppy showing any serious genetic or congenital defect will be replaced as follows: animal must show defect by 1 year of age; seller must be notified of the problem within 2 business days of the licensed veterinarian’s determinations; buyer must have 2 reports from 2 unassociated veterinarians stating the same problem. This must be written on the veterinarian’s letterhead stationary. Buyer must provide legible copies of the puppy’s medical records showing regular veterinary check-ups, current vaccinations, deworming, and heartworm prevention.
A puppy with a defect must be returned to the seller in order to qualify for a replacement puppy. If a puppy is euthanized without the seller’s permission, this guarantee will be null and void and no replacement puppy will be given. This guarantee does not include uneven bites, undescended testicles, dermatic mange, inguinal or umbilical hernias, fleas, worms, ticks, ear mites, or coccidian and kennel cough. There are also certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors; for example: allergies, dermatic mange, and other autoimmune disorders that are not covered by this guarantee.
All items covered under this guarantee are by replacement only. There are no cash refunds. Replacement puppy will be agreed upon by the buyer and seller, but may not be from the same litter. This contract is valid for the original owner only, and is not transferable. By signing this agreement both parties agree to be bound by all terms set forth and that the buyer will take proper care of their new puppy.
The buyer fully agrees that if it is found that your puppy has been mistreated, neglected, or abused, or if the buyer decides that the puppy is not something they are ready to keep and care for, at any time, the animal will be returned , at once, and free of charge, to the breeder.
The buyer also fully agrees that there will be no refunds or replacements in the above circumstances. This agreement shall be deemed a legal and binding agreement and is under the jurisdiction of the State of Minnesota.
